The Correct Way To Stock Fishing Tackle Boxes
The sport of fishing is taken extremely serious by many men and women around the globe. They all have their favorite bass lake or trout pond and they all have well furnished fishing tackle boxes. Each will have a number of the same item and they will all their boxes packed and ready to go at the drop of a hat should they get wind of a hot biting spot.
The well dressed tackle box will include essentials such as floats, hooks, sinkers, bait, reels and a rod or two. What type of fish you trying to catch will determine which of the essentials you use so it is best to simply keep the box loaded with one of everything. A hook is what will snag the fish and is attached to the end of fishing line. There are hundreds of different hooks available but, a simple rule of thumb is the smaller the hook, the smaller the fish.
The sinker is a small bb size weight attached by the hook to drag the line along the bottom of the water. Catfish is a good example of the reason for sinkers. They are bottom feeders so the sinker will drag the line close to where the bottom feeders hang out. Then in somewhere in the middle of the fishing line will be a float.
A floater is generally an attractive devise that floats on top of the water until you get a bite on the hook and then it will bob up and down in the water to alert you it is time to start reeling in.
Lures are just what the name suggests they should be. They are shiny pieces that are attached to the line near the hook to get the attention of any fish in the area. The reel is attached to a rod and holds the fishing line. The reel is also designed to give you more control over the amount of fishing line you will release. Fishing line is what holds the hook and is attached to the reel. There are different thicknesses and the line should coincide with the type and size of fish you are trying to catch.
The rod is what holds the reel, the line, the hook and the fish. A fishing rod comes in numerous lengths and should be one you are comfortable with. There are thousands of rod styles, manufactures, colors and sizes. The price will be one that starts at a few dollars and goes into the thousands. The one you opt for should be designed to work for what you want it to catch and in the price range your spouse agrees to.
Next comes the bait. This is what gets attached to the hook and the most prominent thing the fish are after. Bait can be minnows, worms, crickets and a number of other live or dead creatures. Fake bait is made to look like the real thing but is not. Many seasoned fishermen will either swear by or totally deny the use of fake bait.
And the last and most essential item is the fishing tackle boxes themselves. This should be large enough to hold numerous amounts of the above named essentials. It should also hold the days allotment of beverages and a snack or two.
