People take their fishing serious and the equipment they use is an important tool that will determine the type of fish they are going after as well as size. Many will fish in tournaments around the country just for the experience of fishing in a well known trout pond or bass lake. A well equipped tackle box will include hooks, sinkers, floats, rods and reels for starters. The hooks are what is attached to the line, is the part where the bait is attached and will be the part that actually attaches to the fish in order to reel it in. There are hundreds of different kinds of hooks and the majority of seasoned fishermen have there favorites. There is a hook designed to catch a particular type of fish. For example, the larger the hook the larger the type of fish you would most likely be fishing for.

The sinker is a small heavy weight that will be attached with the hook at the end of the line. The sinkers are used when you are attempting to catch fish that are bottom feeders, such as catfish. A float is also a much have essential for a well equipped box.

The float is placed somewhere towards the middle of the fishing line. The float does just as the name suggests, it floats on top of the water and when you have a bite on the line, and the float will bob up and down in the water, to let you know it is almost time to start reeling in.

A lure is used with the bait and is made to attract the fish. These will usually have some sort of sheen to them as this is what the fish are attracted to. The reel is attached to a rod holds the fishing line and will control the amount of the line released. There are also different thicknesses of the line and each will determine the type of fishing you are intending to do.

The rod is the pole that holds the reel which should be somewhere close to your hand. The rod comes in hundreds of styles, shapes, sizes and colors. These can be very expensive or very inexpensive depending on what it is you prefer. There are rods that look identical, however, are made by different manufactures. Most serious fishermen have their favorites and will not deter from using them.

And of course there is the bait. Bait is what you put on the end of the hook to catch the fish in question. Bait can be a wide variety of items such as worms which come in a ton of different names, crickets, minnows, and a number of other live creatures. There are also fake baits available that are made to resemble many different types live bait. The choice of bait will vary among the fishing being done and even then there are some who swear by only one kind for everything.

The fishing tackle boxes are whats used to hold all of the above items along with most fishermen lunch, beer for the day and good luck charms. Fishing is a serious sport that many look forward to doing every chance they can as it is a relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
